Occasionally, we feel the need to rudder steer our artists, crafts-humans, marketing directors, chambers, businesses, and the public about the differences between Brown Bears and Black Bears. It just gives more accuracy, authenticity, and legitimacy to what they are doing. Today is one of those days.
We have attached a picture highlighting some of the obvious physical differences. The website link shows a lot of photographs of both Brown and Black Bears.
Remember, there are no Brown Bears in the wildeast of the Mississippi River. We get that question a lot!
All of our Black Bears are black east of the Mississippi River except the Great White Bear that lives in his townhouse beneath Kuwati (ᎫᏩᎯ or ᎫᏬᎯ), a.k.a. Mulberry Place. The Black Bears with the other color variations are in the American West, Canada, and Alaska.
